Breguet Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035
The Maison Breguet continues to celebrate its 250th anniversary with the new Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035 model, a limited edition of 250 pieces that pays tribute to the technical and aesthetic heritage of Abraham-Louis Breguet.
The Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035 embodies the house's founding philosophy: to showcase the beauty of the mechanism and democratize timekeeping. Its structure unconcealedly reveals the mechanical soul of its automatic caliber 505SR, which beats at 3 Hz and offers a 50-hour power reserve.
Its distinctive open-work architecture offers a spectacular view of shot-peened and satin-finished bridges on a plate of the same finish, framed by a 38 mm case in Breguet gold, an exclusive alloy presented this year as another reason to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
The off-center dial in translucent blue grand feu enamel is distinguished by its “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché, hand-crafted in 18-carat gold. Inspired by the maps of 18th-century Paris, the motif evokes the Île de la Cité, where A.-L. Breguet set up his workshop. Breguet Arabic numerals, fleur-de-lis on the minute hand, and the retrograde seconds hand at 10 o'clock complete this refined aesthetic.
On the reverse, the crescent-shaped oscillating weight, crafted in satin-finished platinum, is a tribute to Breguet's perpetual watches. This unusual and poetic design reflects his innovative vision of automatic watchmaking.
With meticulous finishes, this exclusive model combines the house's two emblematic color codes: gold and Breguet blue. Paired with a navy blue alligator strap and presented in a commemorative box inspired by 18th-century Moroccan leather chests, this watch becomes a true time capsule celebrating two and a half centuries of watchmaking genius.
With the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035, Breguet not only celebrates its past, but also reaffirms its role as one of the fundamental pillars of Haute Horlogerie today. This limited edition embodies the perfect balance between history and modernity, craftsmanship and evolution, offering collectors and time enthusiasts a unique timepiece that transcends generations. Without a doubt, a timeless statement of watchmaking mastery.
