18K white gold engagement solitaire ring with diamonds
Diamond information
The Suarez family personally travels to international diamond markets to ensure that they meet the selection requirements based on cut, size, weight, colour and purity that certify their excellence. Each specimen complies with the conditions of the “Kimberley Treaty” and the requirements of the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) are taken into account.
Following these rigorous criteria, at Suarez 99.5% of the specimens are discarded for not meeting the brand's quality standards.
The “Carat” (weight) is the unit of measurement for diamonds. The weight of a diamond is measured in carats, abbreviated as ct.
The metric carat, approved in 1907, corresponds to 0.20 gr.
Diamonds are sold at a price per carat, so their value varies exponentially with the weight of the gem.
The color refers to the natural shade of white diamonds. Most diamonds have a slightly yellowish color, so the more colorless it is, the more exceptional and unique it will be.
The standards for grading them are based on a pattern where the diamond is graded from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow). Suarez only accepts diamonds from D to H:
Colorless - Exceptional White (D, E and F): They are difficult to find and their value is higher.
Almost colorless - Extra white (G and H): Practically colorless. It can only be appreciated if it is compared to another colorless one.
The purity of a diamond is determined by its inclusions (natural traces of its crystallization process).
The purity grade of Suarez diamonds is at the top of the scale, they never have black inclusions and we only accept diamonds that are at the top of the scale, from IF to SI1, as long as their imperfections are in a non-visible area and are not black.
IF: Diamonds without any type of internal inclusion.
VVS2 / VVS1: Diamonds with very small inclusions, difficult to appreciate with a 10x magnifying glass and impossible to see with the naked eye.
VS2 / VS1: Diamonds with very small inclusions, noticeable with a 10x magnifying glass and impossible to see with the naked eye.
